| Profile | Born in Pare-pare, South Sulawesi, on 5th October 1962, Hamid attended the province's Hasanuddin University. He was a judiciary observer before working for the General Elections Commission (KPU). As a student, he was actively involved in the Muhammadiyah Students Association and the Association of Islamic Students (HMI) in Makassar, the capital of South Sulawesi province. He is close to Vice President Jusuf Kalla, who hails from the same province. | |
