| Profile | Born in Tasikmalaya, West Java, on 2nd June 1941, Rachmat graduated from the Bandung Institute of Technology in 1970. He served as Indonesian ambassador to Russia and Mongolia in 1993 to 1997. Rachmat has held various positions in the House of Representatives, including chairman of House Commission V and Commission VI. He was also Golkar Party secretary-general from 1988 to 1993. | |
