Born in Medan, North Sumatra, on 20th April 1955, Soegiharto completed his bachelors degree in economics at the University of Indonesia in 1986 and later received his masters from the Amsterdam School of Management. Sugiharto is a member of the United Development Party (PPP). As chief financial officer at publicly listed PT Medco Energy International, he is known to have been behind the company's success and growth during the past few years. Soegiharto spent nine years as a banker in the Chemical Bank and Bankers Trust Company in New York before joining the Medco Group. |
