Talk: Experiences from Inside Iraq

Dear PWHCE reader in Melbourne Australia,

You are cordially invited to a talk that will be given by an Iraqi refugee to Australia entitled, "Experiences from Inside Iraq." The speaker escaped from Iraq in 1994.

Please note: Contrary to usual practice, this talk will be on a Monday, not a Tuesday.

The talk will be held :-
at 7-30pm on Monday the 16th June, 2003
    at The Smith Street Bar
      (In the upstairs room)
      14 - 18 Smith Street, Collingwood
      (Melbourne, Victoria, Australia)
Melways ref:- 2C D12 corner of Mason Street,
between Gertrude St and Victoria Pde.
The speaker was born, grew up and educated in Iraq and is consequently qualified to provide a perspective on Iraq's past, present and future. This talk offers a unique opportunity to listen to someone who can provide a first hand account of life under Saddam's regime and offer an insight into the prospects for a post Saddam Iraq. There will be time to ask the speaker questions at the conclusion of the talk.

A meal and/or drinks can be purchased at the bar between 6-45 and 7-00pm. The talk will commence at 7-30pm in the upstairs room. The stairs are directly in front of the entrance.
