Excerpts from Frank Mount's Asia Pacific Report.

Dear PWHCE reader in Melbourne Australia,

You are cordially invited to our end of year dinner, with a talk on the topic, Islamic Terrorism in Southeast Asia - the Al Qaeda Connection, to be given by the editor of the Asia Pacific Report, Mr Frank Mount. Frank Mount was a foreign correspondent based in Saigon from 1966-1974 and in Manila from 1974-1982. Frank maintains an extensive network of political contacts throughout Southeast Asia, including Indonesia and the Philippines, which are currently the location of terrorist bombing campaigns. Accordingly, he is well informed on the bases and interrelations between different organisations in Southeast Asia, particularly al Qaeda.

Frank Mount's talk will be held :-
    at 7:00pm, on Saturday, 16th November, 2002
    at The Retreat Hotel
As this is our end of year dinner, a two course meal will be served upstairs in the Carringbush Room at the cost of $29 per head. This price does not include drinks, which can be purchased upstairs. Contrary to the usual practise we will meet upstairs at 7-00pm.

Given that the issue of islamic fundamentalist terrorism is of increasing relevance to all of us, we are very fortunate to be able to hear from Frank Mount, whose specific area of expertise relates directly to this particular issue.

As always there will be ample opportunity to ask the speaker questions and to participate in the ensuing discussion.

RSVP:- 9th of November, 2002.
