Talk: The Legacy of the Spanish Civil War

Dear PWHCE reader in Melbourne Australia,

You are cordially invited to a talk to be given by Mr Peter Renehan entitled, "The Legacy of the Spanish Civil War." Mr Renehan taught English in Catalonia for fifteen years between 1952 and 1967, marrying a Spaniard and raising four children. During this time, he developed a deep interest in and loyalty to Spain, which he retains to this day. Mr. Renehan's talk will be held -

at 6:30 for 7:30 on Wednesday the 23rd of October, 2003
    at Bells Hotel and Brewery
      157 Moray Street South Melbourne
      (Corner of Coventry Rd)
      Melways Ref: 2K E1
The hotel management would be appreciative if guests availed themselves of the opportunity to purchase a meal and/or drinks at the bar between 6:30 pm and 7:00pm. The talk will commence at 7:30pm in the upstairs function room.

Mr Renehan's admiration for Spanish society, with its emphasis on the family and regional patriotism, offers the opportunity to hear an interesting perspective on 20th century Spain. There will be ample opportunity to ask Mr. Renehan questions at the conclusion of his talk.

Please RSVP by Monday the 16th of October 2003.
